Ikea Padova

The waterproofing works for the roof of the IKEA store in Padova—one of the brand’s flagship locations in northeastern Italy—were recently completed. This store is a key destination for thousands of visitors each week.

The project, which began in February 2025, covered a total surface area of 23,000 m² and was completed on schedule, without disrupting the store’s regular operations. To ensure continuous business activity, the works were carefully planned and executed through a combination of daytime and nighttime shifts, with utmost attention to site safety and logistics.

The intervention was carried out in close collaboration with a client known for its strict environmental and regulatory standards, in line with IKEA’s global sustainability vision. As such, the project had to meet stringent technical requirements, adhering to certified environmental performance and European and international standards for sustainability, safety, and thermal insulation.

A high-reflectance Broof waterproofing membrane was installed, offering exceptional resistance to weather conditions and thermal stress. The selected material enabled the implementation of an efficient cool roof solution, helping to mitigate the urban heat island effect and improve the building’s overall energy performance.

The project also involved the complete replacement of the skylights, using high-performance components designed to maximise natural daylight and energy efficiency.
This intervention once again highlights Isocaf S.R.L.’s expertise in large-scale waterproofing works, executed within complex operational environments.
