Le Tre Mura Shopping Centre
At the Le Tre Mura Shopping Centre in Pistoia, Isocaf S.r.l. carried out a waterproofing intervention over a total surface area of 16,000 sqm. The works, executed between August 2025 and March 2026, were aimed at the full refurbishment of the roofing waterproofing system.
The project originated from a clear client requirement: to completely renew the roofing system and structurally prepare it for the future installation of a photovoltaic system, without any interruption to the shopping centre’s operations. All activities were therefore scheduled during daytime, ensuring continuous full operability of the underlying commercial spaces.
The existing ballast roof system required a highly methodical execution approach. The ballast was progressively handled and temporarily removed section by section to expose the working areas. On each cleared surface, a new Broof T2-certified PVC waterproofing membrane was installed, followed by the repositioning of the ballast layer before proceeding to the next phase. This process was repeated with precision across the entire roof until completion.
A distinctive aspect of the project was the widespread presence of rooftop technical equipment and plant systems, which could not be removed. To ensure operational continuity and allow proper waterproofing works, each unit was individually lifted using hydraulic jacks, enabling intervention on the underlying areas.
The project was delivered through a structured and methodical approach, resulting in a uniform and high-performance roofing system, with no compromises during the execution phases.
